Patient Registration Representative

About the role

The Patient Access department at UHealth Plantation is seeking a full‑time Patient Registration Representative. In this on‑site position you will be the first point of contact for patients, gathering essential information, verifying insurance, and collecting payments while ensuring a positive experience.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients for clinical services by obtaining demographic and insurance details.
• Verify insurance benefits and collect patient financial responsibility, including co‑pays, deductibles and self‑pay balances.
• Serve as a Patient Advocate and Service Ambassador, addressing concerns and enhancing the overall patient experience.
• Maintain compliance with UHealth policies, state and federal regulations, and departmental procedures.
• Accurately manage cash, process payments, and support revenue cycle goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.

Required profile

• High School Diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• At least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English; bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with UChart, Cadence, Prelude, Enterprise Billing.
• Experience using Passport HealthWorks Compliance Checker, Availity, RIS‑PACS.
• Familiarity with CaneCare, UMCare, Intellidose, MCSL, Experian.
• Ability to navigate online insurance verification systems.
