Patient Access Scheduler (Remote)

About the role

Ovation Healthcare, formerly QHR Health, supports independent hospitals and health systems with shared services and operations expertise. As a Patient Access Scheduler, you will schedule hospital outpatient services, patient information and registration, reporting to the Patient Access Manager. The role is 100% remote and sits within Amplify RCM.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule hospital outpatient services, including imaging, tests, therapy sessions and other procedures
• Confirm authorizations for outpatient procedures
• Update demographic and insurance information in the hospital system
• Communicate appointment details and preparation instructions to patients
• Handle inquiries, rescheduling and cancellations professionally
• Work with radiology, cardiology and surgical services to keep scheduling smooth
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
• Use scheduling software and electronic health records efficiently

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred
• Previous experience in outpatient scheduling, patient registration or a similar role preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes and medical insurance
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
