Patient Access Representative – Part‑Time Nights (ER)

About the role

At Kingman Healthcare, the Patient Access Representative supports patient registration, verification of benefits, and financial processing during night shifts in the Emergency Department. The position is part‑time and focuses on delivering excellent customer service while ensuring accurate data entry and account balancing.

Key responsibilities

• Field and direct incoming calls, respond to patient and staff inquiries, and provide excellent customer service.
• Register, preregister, schedule, reschedule, and discharge patients according to established guidelines.
• Verify insurance eligibility, obtain pre‑authorizations, and collect co‑pays, deductibles, and deposits.
• Balance daily cash, complete cash logs, and prepare bank deposit slips for Patient Financial Services.
• Assist patients with financial counseling referrals and participate in process‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or healthcare registration/billing.
• Effective oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Experience using insurance eligibility and audit tools.
• Basic computer and telephone operation.
