Patient Access Liaison

About the role

The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a field‑based position at Ascendis Pharma focused on supporting adult and pediatric patients and their caregivers. The PAL guides patients through insurance, coverage and reimbursement processes, while providing disease‑state and product education to ensure timely and safe access to therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and caregivers, delivering education on disease state, Ascendis products, and therapy access.
• Develop and maintain relationships through in‑person and virtual interactions, tailoring communication plans to individual needs.
• Assess patient needs and create action plans using approved resources, including affordability assistance.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage, reimbursement procedures, and medication administration once coverage is secured.
• Collaborate with internal cross‑functional teams, patient advocacy, safety, pharmacovigilance and compliance colleagues.
• Report adverse events and product complaints in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Travel up to 50% of the time, including home visits, weekend trips and attendance at patient education symposia.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a direct patient support role.
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50% travel, including overnight and weekend trips).
• Strong ability to communicate complex medical and reimbursement information to patients and caregivers.
