Part‑Time Veterinary Laboratory Assistant

About the role

This part‑time position supports the Veterinary Technology Program at a Georgia state university campus. Under general supervision, you will assist faculty in delivering classroom and laboratory instruction to veterinary technology students.

Key responsibilities

• Assist full‑time faculty in teaching day and evening classes (Monday‑Thursday) up to 28 hours per week.
• Evaluate student progress and help achieve program learning objectives.
• Maintain laboratory environments, set up and facilitate lab activities for student groups.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in training areas.
• Maintain equipment, manage inventory, and support lab operations.

Required profile

• Pass a criminal background check and be vaccinated for rabies.
• Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited institution.
• Georgia Veterinary Technician license in good standing.
• Two or more years of field experience as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of Veterinary Technician National Examination requirements and laboratory testing principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
