Part‑Time Social Work Instructor (Online & On‑Campus)

About the role

The School of Social Work at LSU is seeking part‑time instructors to teach both online and on‑campus courses. You will join a dynamic faculty team, delivering curriculum that prepares undergraduate and graduate students for professional practice.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses according to the School’s curriculum and schedule (approximately 75% of effort).
• Select texts and instructional materials, develop lesson plans, and create a detailed syllabus with objectives, assignments, and evaluation criteria (≈10%).
• Assess student performance through assignments, projects, discussions, and exams, providing timely feedback (≈5%).
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, grades, and submit rosters and grade sheets by university deadlines (≈5%).
• Be available for student consultation via phone, email, or Zoom and perform other duties as assigned (≈5%).

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Work or a closely related field (minimum).
• Preference for candidates holding a Ph.D. in Social Work or related discipline.
• Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses, either online or in a traditional classroom setting.
