Part‑time Professor – Game Design & Simulation

About the role

Cambrian College’s School of Creative Industries is seeking a part‑time professor to join the Game Design and Simulation & Serious Games programs starting September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver hands‑on instruction to undergraduate students and contribute to a vibrant learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach one or more courses such as Game Mechanics and Prototyping, Game Design Workshop, Game Programming Patterns, and Game Production.
• Develop and update course materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Provide mentorship, leadership, and constructive feedback to students.
• Utilize classroom technologies, learning management systems, and media presentation tools.
• Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to keep curriculum current.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (master’s preferred).
• Minimum two years of professional experience in game design, development, or a related industry.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Unity.
• Proficiency with Unreal Engine.
• Programming in C#.
• Using Blueprint visual scripting in Unreal Engine.
