Part‑Time Pharmacy Technician – Vail Health

About the role

Join Vail Health Hospital’s retail pharmacy team as a part‑time Pharmacy Technician. You will support the pharmacist in daily operations, ensuring accurate prescription processing and excellent patient service.

Key responsibilities

• Act as lead technician, modeling best practices and training other techs.
• Enter patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
• Resolve third‑party prescription plan adjudication issues.
• Assist in dispensing prescriptions and specialty medication compounding under pharmacist supervision.
• Handle cash register transactions, reconcile daily cash and checks, and submit sales reports.
• Manage OTC and Rx inventory, meet budget goals, and train others on inventory processes.
• Provide relationship‑based customer service, advocating for patient safety and preferences.
• Uphold Just Culture principles and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Required profile

• State of Colorado Pharmacy Technician Provisional Certification (PHATP) required.
• Experience in healthcare preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong typing ability and proficiency with various computer programs.
• Ability to obtain required computer skills within 90 days.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.
