Part‑Time Mathematics Tutor

About the role

Lanier Technical College is seeking a part‑time Mathematics Tutor to support students during the Fall 2026 semester. The tutor will work on‑site in learning centers, community locations, or classroom sites, providing personalized instruction in a variety of college‑level math subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Tutor students in mathematics, meeting them on a regular schedule.
• Prepare and assign manageable tasks and appropriate teaching materials.
• Provide positive feedback, encouragement, and support to learners.
• Discuss student progress with staff and maintain accurate records.
• Attend in‑service training, workshops, and seminars as required.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in tutoring areas.
• Complete administrative duties to support daily tutoring operations.

Required profile

• Successful completion of college‑level math courses with a minimum grade of B (e.g., College Algebra, Calculus I‑III, Statistics, Differential Equations).
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a tutor is preferred.
• Unofficial transcripts must be submitted with the application.
