About the role

This part‑time adjunct faculty position serves as the Lead Instructor for the Firefighter Rookie School at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville. Reporting to the Dean of Health Professions, you will coordinate and deliver high‑quality instruction that blends classroom theory, practical skills labs, and live‑fire training.

Key responsibilities

• Lead assigned academy classes, ensuring curriculum alignment with industry standards.
• Design and facilitate classroom lectures, hands‑on labs, and live‑fire exercises.
• Assess student performance, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed during all practical sessions.
• Maintain and manage training equipment and facilities.
• Collaborate with the Dean and other faculty to continuously improve the program.

Required profile

• Adjunct faculty appointment with the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville.
• Professional experience in fire service or fire‑fighter training.
• Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners in both theoretical and practical settings.
