Part‑Time Gerontology Faculty – Interest Pool

About the role

Portland Community College is creating a pool of qualified part‑time instructors for its Gerontology program at the Sylvania Campus. Selected candidates will be called upon to teach individual courses or serve as substitutes throughout the academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver course content for assigned Gerontology classes, including lectures, discussions, and assessments.
• Prepare and update syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials in line with PCC standards.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Participate in departmental meetings and curriculum reviews as needed.

Required profile

• Relevant academic credentials and experience in gerontology or a closely related field.
• Ability to teach PCC courses listed in the Gerontology catalog.
• Residency in Oregon or Washington, or willingness to establish residence.
