Part‑Time Commercial Truck Driving Instructor

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Part‑Time Commercial Truck Driving Instructor to join the Commercial Truck Driving Program at its Vidalia (and Swainsboro) campuses. The instructor will provide hands‑on training and supervision to students preparing for careers in commercial trucking.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and practical instruction on commercial vehicle operation, safety, and FMCSA regulations.
• Supervise student driving sessions on the truck driving range, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Conduct assessments, evaluate student performance, and provide feedback.
• Maintain accurate training records and adhere to departmental policies.
• Participate in random drug and alcohol testing as required by FMCSA.

Required profile

• Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• At least three years of driving experience within the past seven years.
• Minimum two years of over‑the‑road driving experience in accordance with FMCSA rules.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
