Part‑Time Café Assistant

About the role

Join the State of Georgia’s campus café team as a Part‑Time Café Assistant. You will support daily operations, serve customers, and help maintain a clean, safe food environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food items during scheduled mealtimes following standardized procedures.
• Open registers, operate the point‑of‑sale system, and handle cash and card transactions.
• Assist with inventory counts, stocking shelves, freezers and coolers.
• Maintain food‑service equipment, report any maintenance needs, and operate the dishwasher.
• Clean tables, chairs, and work areas; manage trash removal.
• Support meal preparation for on‑campus events when requested.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of food‑service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe certification (preferred).
• Ability to follow food safety and personal hygiene standards.

Required skills

• Cash register operation.
• Point‑of‑sale (POS) system usage.
• ServSafe or equivalent food‑safety certification.
