Part‑Time Adult Education Program Assistant

About the role

The State of Georgia, through Chattahoochee Technical College, is seeking a Part‑Time Program Assistant to support adult education programs at the Ellijay Learning Center. This role works evenings on Mondays and Wednesdays, providing essential administrative and customer‑service support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clerical support, enter and correct student data in GALIS, and maintain filing systems.
• Prepare memoranda, letters, and other correspondence; proofread documents for accuracy.
• Manage GED registration records and coordinate graduation exercises.
• Handle incoming mail, maintain program supply inventory, and reorder supplies as needed.
• Conduct pre‑testing and registration sessions, answer phones, schedule appointments, and greet campus visitors.
• Assist instructors with classroom presentations and tutor individual students.
• Perform additional duties related to program operations as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience or apprenticeship/internship.
• Knowledge of office practices, procedures, equipment, and customer‑service standards.
• Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving, and public interaction skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $15.00.
• Part‑time schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:30 pm – 8:00 pm.
• No state benefits; position is ineligible for telework.
