Parts Specialist – Retail & Installer Support

About the role

The Parts Specialist delivers high‑level service to both retail walk‑in customers and professional installers while supporting store management with daily operational tasks. This role combines customer interaction, parts knowledge, and hands‑on service in a fast‑paced automotive retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist retail and installer customers, promoting company service programs such as the Low‑Price Guarantee.
• Answer phone inquiries, locate parts, provide quotes, and recommend related items.
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer, process cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Handle exchanges, returns, and resolve customer complaints in accordance with policy.
• Support store merchandising: receive freight, stock shelves, update planograms, and keep the sales floor clean.
• Prepare merchandise returns, conduct inventory adjustments, and participate in cycle counts.
• Operate brake lathe and other test equipment after training, and perform in‑store services such as wiper installation, battery testing, OBD code scanning, and headlight replacement.
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs require a valid driving record.

Required profile

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric part numbers.
• Strong, friendly, and professional customer‑service orientation.
• Capacity to multitask, handling phone and in‑store customers simultaneously.
• Bilingual candidates, especially Spanish speakers, are encouraged to apply.

Required skills

• Brake lathe operation
• Automotive diagnostic equipment operation (battery tester, charging system tester, OBD scanner)
• Parts cataloging using the Weatherly index system
