Parts Specialist

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is hiring a Parts Specialist for its store in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The position provides retail and installer customers with a high level of service and supports store management with assigned tasks. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Greet retail and walk-in customers promptly and help them select merchandise
• Answer phone calls, look up parts and quote prices, recommend related items and offer the Low-Price Guarantee
• Assist managers and installer service specialists with professional customers
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer, handle cash and checks, make change and process credit cards
• Process exchanges and returns and resolve customer complaints
• Help with image makers, planogram updates, freight receipt, stocking, cleaning, and daily operational tasks such as preparing returns and assisting with stock adjustments and cycle counts
• After training, operate the brake lathe and other store test equipment
• Perform in-store services where state and local laws allow, such as installing wipers, testing and charging batteries, scanning trouble codes and replacing headlight capsules
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate

Required profile

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Outstanding, friendly and professional customer service
• Able to multitask between phone and in-store customers
• Completion of assigned company training

Required skills

• Desired: familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, the Weatherly index system and automotive sales or service
• Desired: ASE certification
• Desired: fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
