Part-Time Utility Technician, Emergency Room

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a part-time Utility Technician for its emergency room in New Port Richey, Florida. The role covers daily cleaning of assigned areas, project cleaning and waste handling, working day shifts on weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas daily, including removing trash, linens and biohazard waste
• Carry out project cleaning of walls, light fixtures, common areas, windows, vents and sidewalks as assigned
• Transport soiled linens and waste in line with department and hospital policies
• Use personal protective equipment properly throughout the job
• Monitor and report equipment issues or shortages and help maintain equipment
• Adjust to staff shortages and cover other assigned areas when needed
• Interact with patients and customers appropriately, document daily assignments and suggest improvements

Required profile

• Ability to read, write, communicate and understand instructions in English
• Knowledge of environmental services equipment and chemicals used by the department
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe condition
• Ability to climb and work on a ladder
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• 1+ year of custodial work in a commercial setting preferred

• Basic computer skills, including use of mouse and keyboard

Pay range: $15.84 - $25.34. Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting.
