Part-Time Research Law Librarian

About the role

Accufile is looking for a part‑time Research Law Librarian to provide high‑quality legal and corporate research for a law‑firm client. The role is fully remote, with a hybrid option for candidates in the New York City metro area, and requires availability during East Coast business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research on M&A, corporate, and transactional matters using legal research platforms.
• Respond to research requests from attorneys, librarians, paralegals and staff, prioritising and delivering concise findings.
• Coordinate workflow with Accufile’s distributed research team and monitor request queues.
• Follow client‑specific library policies, procedures and research protocols.
• Provide responsive, client‑focused customer service.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a law‑firm library or reference research role.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MLIS (ALA‑accredited) or JD (ABA‑accredited) preferred.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
• Reliable high‑speed internet connection for remote work.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis and Bloomberg Law.
• Experience using a variety of fee‑based and free electronic databases, subject‑specific resources and legal analytics tools.
