Part-Time Remote Psychology Faculty (Visiting Professor)

About the role

Chamberlain University, part of Covista, is looking for a part-time, remote Psychology faculty member to teach PSYC110, a course that gives students a foundation for understanding, predicting and directing behaviour. The university wants long-term relationships with instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for practitioner-focused education. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks, with face-to-face interaction blended with online discussion and assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an approved Covista syllabus following the local campus template, including terminal course objectives.
• Organise, prepare and regularly revise course materials.
• Use online tools and course software, including websites, email and online discussions.
• Communicate clearly and set expectations by publishing objectives, assignment and exam dates and the weight of each evaluation category.
• Ensure exam content matches course objectives and grade fairly, giving timely feedback.
• Complete other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Required profile

• A Master's or PhD in Psychology or a very closely related field, with at least 18 earned graduate credits in psychology; PhD candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in an online or virtual environment at the level of instructor or higher.
• Experience reaching out to students is highly preferred.
• Current regulatory and practice credentials where appropriate.
• Ability to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution.

What we offer

• Pay of $715 to $1,950 per earned credit hour, depending on education and experience; actual pay may vary with course type, experience, location, licensure and departmental budget.
