Part-Time Museum Security Officer

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time unarmed Museum Security Officer in University City, Philadelphia. The officer serves and safeguards clients at a leading museum on a university campus, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas and galleries, maintaining a visible presence to deter security incidents and supporting a welcoming campus environment. The position is part time, with a pay rate of $17.25 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and campus partners while carrying out security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms and critical situations, following reporting and notification protocols.
• Carry out regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behaviour, hazards and maintenance concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and communicate with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
