Part-Time Medical Director – Remote (US)

About the role

Diagnexia is creating a remote, AI‑empowered digital pathology service in the United States and seeks a Medical Director to lead the effort from the ground up. This part‑time contractor position allows you to maintain an existing practice while providing clinical and regulatory leadership for a novel pathology model.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the named Laboratory Director on CLIA certificates, CAP accreditation, and state permits.
• Oversee quality programs, including QC/QA, proficiency testing, competency assessments, and validation of new methods.
• Perform peer review of pathologist cases (approximately 2–3% of cases).
• Provide remote clinical consultation and urgent query support during agreed business hours.
• Maintain a working base near the Naperville laboratory and travel for compliance visits and state inspections.
• Engage with clients, prospective partners, and senior leadership, including regular interaction with the CMO.

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted medical licensure in Illinois, New York, and Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain promptly).
• New York State CLEP Certificate of Qualification (or eligibility).
• Experience as a CLIA/CAP Laboratory Director, preferably with multi‑state oversight.
• Comfort with a remote‑first, technology‑driven digital pathology model.
• Willingness to travel for periodic on‑site compliance visits.
• Professional liability insurance meeting the minimum coverage specified in the agreement.
