Part-Time Gerontology Faculty Position

About the role

Chaffey College is building a pool of qualified part‑time instructors to teach Gerontology courses across its campuses in Rancho, Fontana, and Chino, CA. This role offers flexible, in‑person teaching assignments for qualified professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate Gerontology lectures, labs, or seminars on a scheduled basis.
• Prepare course materials, syllabi, and assessments in alignment with college standards.
• Maintain a supportive classroom environment that respects diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and gender identities.
• Assess student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities as required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Gerontology, an interdisciplinary area, or a related discipline with graduate coursework in at least one additional constituent field.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds in a community college setting.
• Eligibility to meet California State Community College minimum qualifications for Gerontology instructors.

Required skills

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Effective classroom management and instructional design.
