Part-Time Franklin County Bus Driver (No CDL Required)

About the role

Rural Community Transportation (RCT) is seeking a part‑time driver to operate its vans and buses in Franklin County. The position does not require a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and focuses on providing safe, reliable transportation for passengers in rural communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, on‑schedule transportation for passengers using agency vehicles.
• Deliver courteous and respectful customer service at all times.
• Maintain passenger confidentiality and assist with boarding, exiting, and wheelchair lift operation as trained.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, clean, refuel, and secure vehicles.
• Report mechanical failures, safety concerns, and maintenance issues promptly.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and RCT policies.
• Respond to emergencies, accidents, and incidents according to established protocols.
• Complete required paperwork such as inspection reports, mileage logs, and manifests.
• Maintain a professional appearance and complete all mandatory trainings.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) or comparable experience.
• Ability to operate a vehicle safely without a CDL.
• Detail‑oriented, solution‑driven, and committed to equity in rural communities.
• Willingness to assist passengers, including those using wheelchair lifts.
