Part-Time Bistro Server (AM Shift)

About the role

Courtyard by Marriott Chico, a 90-room hotel in Northern California, is hiring a part-time bistro server for its hotel restaurant, The Bistro. The position pays $16.90 to $17.00 per hour and serves guests with food and beverage in a courteous way, following the brand's guest service and sustainability standards. The schedule varies and may include holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food and beverage to guests and set up supplies, food and beverage at the start of each shift, keeping the work area stocked.
• Take orders, input them, collect payment, give change and tell the kitchen about allergies, dietary needs and special requests.
• Prepare food, coffee and other beverages, including alcohol, when needed, and prepare ingredients such as portioning, chopping and storing.
• Help with bartending and bussing during staffing shortages or peak periods.
• Count the bank at the end of the shift, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, drop off receipts and secure the bank.
• Clean equipment and areas, lock equipment doors, and follow state, federal and corporate rules on serving alcohol.
• Follow the EarthView sustainability program, safety standards (MSDS, OSHA) and ensure guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• Previous food and beverage experience or equivalent training is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, lift up to 25 pounds and bend and reach.
