Part-Time Automotive Technician

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) for a part-time position, working on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles across multiple brands with minimal technical supervision. The role supports vehicle performance and availability so customers can get on the road safely and reliably. It is an on-site position requiring regular presence.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on newer vehicles, such as oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake work, suspension repairs and routine maintenance or warranty-related repairs depending on experience.
• Support senior technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair work as you build your skills.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• At least 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 more within the first year; previous OEM experience is preferred.
• Must be 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a noisy mechanical shop; must own a complete set of automotive tools.

Required skills

• ASE certification areas such as engine repair, drivetrain/axles, suspension/steering, brakes, electrical, heating/air conditioning, engine performance and light vehicle/diesel.
• Basic computer skills including typing and data entry.
