Part-Time Art Instructor (Preschool to Adult)

About the role

Solon Center for the Arts is hiring part‑time Art Instructors to teach a range of classes from preschool to adult, including multimedia and watercolor drawing. Instructors will work 4‑14 hours per week, with additional hours for special events, summer camps and workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Create lesson plans, prepare materials and instruct classes across various age groups.
• Implement weekly art camps during the summer and lead workshops or pop‑up events.
• Collaborate closely with the Art Department Coordinator and may serve as lead instructor during rehearsals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Art or Art Education (or equivalent experience); graduate work is a plus.
• Minimum two years of experience teaching art to preschool, school‑aged children or adults.
• Ability to work professionally with students of all skill levels and demonstrate leadership and teamwork.

Required skills

• Proficiency in multiple artistic mediums such as multimedia, watercolor and drawing.
• Strong lesson‑planning and classroom‑management abilities.

What we offer

• Starting pay of $28.00 per hour, with compensation adjusted for education and experience.
