Paraprofessional – Adult Education

About the role

The Paraprofessional provides essential administrative and instructional support for the Adult Education program at University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College. This position ensures smooth enrollment, assessment, and record‑keeping processes while assisting students in GED readiness and distance‑learning courses.

Key responsibilities

• Enroll students and clients in adult education programs and services.
• Administer pre‑ and post‑assessments for T.A.B.E. and Oral Best.
• Enter and maintain student records in the LACES online data management system.
• Answer phones, disseminate program information, and handle filing and copying tasks.
• Administer GED Readiness and Official GED examinations when applicable.
• Monitor and manage distance‑learning platforms (AZTEC, Essential Education, Burlington English).
• Complete intake processes, including barrier assessments and surveys.
• Manage test tickets in the DRC Literacy Pro System.
• Prepare and distribute minutes for staff, advisory board, and other meetings.
• Assist with student retention initiatives and manage departmental computer checkout.
• Collaborate closely with instructors, SNAP E&T, career coaches, and WAGE coordinators.

Required profile

• Experience working in an adult education or community college environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record management.
• Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and external partners.
• Familiarity with GED testing procedures and distance‑learning systems.
