Panel Builder / Machine Wiring Technician

About the role

Hoekstra Electrical Services is growing and is looking for an experienced Panel Builder / Machine Wiring Technician. The role involves custom control panels, industrial equipment and unique projects, with no two builds the same. It suits someone who enjoys precision work, troubleshooting and building custom control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and wire custom industrial control panels
• Install and terminate electrical components, devices and control systems
• Wire industrial equipment and machinery according to engineering drawings
• Perform quality checks and testing of completed panels and systems
• Troubleshoot wiring and control issues during assembly and startup
• Work with project managers, engineers and field electricians to complete projects successfully
• Maintain compliance with electrical codes, safety standards and company quality expectations

Required profile

• Experience building and wiring industrial control panels
• Experience with machine wiring and equipment installation
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and layout drawings
• Valid driver's license and insurability
• Willingness to learn, grow and mentor others

Required skills

• Control wiring, PLC I/O, relays, motor starters and VFDs
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail, strong organization and pride in keeping work areas clean
