Packaging Operator – Production Materials

About the role

Avantor is seeking an eager Packaging Operator to join its Performance Materials team at the Paris, KY facility. The role involves preparing, weighing, packaging, filling, and labeling bulk materials while adhering to cGMP standards and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh and fill chemicals or bulk products according to Production Work Orders.
• Operate, verify, and calibrate production scales.
• Set up, operate, clean, and maintain equipment such as automatic heat sealers, digistalic pumps, crushers, auger filling units, autoclaves, vibrating fillers, induction sealers, and portable exhaust hoods.
• Package finished products for shipment, including boxing and labeling.
• Handle hazardous materials using required safety gear and follow cGMP policies.
• Maintain a clean workstation, document work accurately, and secure warehouse contents.
• Support teammates and perform equipment shutdown when not in use.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of mechanical or electrical experience in an industrial or educational setting.
• Availability for a Monday‑Thursday night shift (7:30 pm‑6 am) with $1/hr shift differential.

Required skills

• Production scales operation and calibration.
• Hazardous material handling.
• Pallet jack and forklift operation.
• Operation of automatic heat sealers, electronic floor scales, digistalic pumps, crushers, auger filling units, autoclave units, vibrating filler units, induction sealing equipment, and portable exhaust hoods.
• Knowledge of cGMP compliance.
