Outpatient Speech Language Pathologist (PRN)

About the role

The outpatient Speech Language Pathologist provides autonomous speech therapy services to patients referred by clinicians or directly seeking care. The role focuses on evaluating, treating, and monitoring patients to achieve individualized communication goals while supporting program development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and create individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver speech therapy sessions, track progress, and adjust plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with documentation standards.
• Achieve productivity targets related to access to care, patient experience, and quality metrics.
• Contribute to program development and community outreach initiatives.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Current state license (or eligibility for licensure) and ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence within two years of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work flexible schedules based on patient demand.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
