Outpatient Access Lead

About the role

We are seeking an Outpatient Access Lead to oversee the front‑office operations of our orthopedic clinic in Canandaigua. The role combines staff coordination, workflow optimization, and direct support for referral and prior‑authorization processes, ensuring a seamless, patient‑focused experience.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of Outpatient Access staff and act as a resource for clinic personnel.
• Monitor accuracy, efficiency and customer service standards across all front‑office functions.
• Lead staff training, schedule competency sessions and track compliance.
• Support clinic leadership on personnel matters, performance evaluations and improvement plans.
• Serve as the eRecord super‑user, design and implement workflow enhancements.
• Provide expert assistance for referral coordination, prior authorizations and main provider support.
• Guide less‑experienced team members in complex decision‑making and technology adoption.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a clinic front‑office or outpatient access environment.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
• Ability to train, mentor and evaluate staff performance.
