Outdoor Field Guide

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time, seasonal Outdoor Field Guide to join the Outdoor Pursuits Department at Silo Ridge Field Club in Amenia, New York. Reporting to the Director of Vibe, you will help create memorable experiences for members and guests while managing wildlife and outdoor activities across the club’s property.

Key responsibilities

• Perform wildlife habitat development, maintenance, and population monitoring.
• Schedule and guide hunting, fishing, archery, 3‑D target shooting, paintball, ATV/UTV rentals, and other outdoor excursions.
• Lead birding, foraging, biking, and hiking outings for members and guests.
• Assist with dog kennel operations, including walking, training, feeding, and stall upkeep.
• Maintain and repair equipment, facilities, trails, and shooting ranges.
• Deliver safety education and hunter‑safety training programs.
• Develop and manage food plots, brooding areas, and pheasant‑raising projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in wildlife or fisheries management, wildlife biology, or a related field, OR at least five years of full‑time experience as a hunting or fishing guide.
• Minimum age of 21 and legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication skills for interacting with members, guests, and team members.

Required skills

• Knowledge of wildlife management practices and habitat conservation.
• Experience leading hunting, fishing, archery, and other outdoor recreational activities.
• Ability to operate and maintain outdoor equipment, vehicles, and shooting facilities.
