About the role
The Orthopedic Technician will support the TOSH Specialty Clinic by providing clinical assistance to orthopedic patients. This full‑time position works within a multidisciplinary team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, focusing on delivering high‑quality patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare patients and treatment areas for orthopedic procedures.
- Assist physicians and nurses with casting, splinting, and equipment setup.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation of procedures.
- Perform basic imaging and diagnostic tests as directed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Orthopedic Technician program preferred.
- Valid certification or licensure as required by Arkansas state regulations.
- Ability to work day shifts in a clinical environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Required skills
- Knowledge of orthopedic casting, splinting, and positioning techniques.
- Familiarity with basic medical imaging equipment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
