Optometric Technician (Part‑time)

About the role

Midwest Eye Consultants is seeking a friendly and motivated Optometric Technician to join our Vision Team in Indiana. This part‑time, on‑site position offers hands‑on training and mentorship, making it ideal for candidates without prior medical experience who enjoy working with people and supporting patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Collect patient information and medical histories prior to exams.
• Perform preliminary and ancillary eye tests as directed by optometrists.
• Prepare patients for eye examinations and explain testing procedures.
• Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists during procedures.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and maintain smooth flow in the clinic.
• Maintain clean exam rooms, manage inventory of supplies and medications.
• Support a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for learning and providing excellent patient service.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical work.
• Good visual acuity and attention to detail.
• Capacity to lift up to 15 lb from floor to waist and smaller loads to shoulder level.
