Optical Test Engineer

About the role

Mesh Optical Technologies is seeking an Optical Test Engineer to design, build, and validate sophisticated optical test infrastructure. You will bridge design intent and production reality, ensuring that photonic devices meet performance, yield, and reliability targets from wafer‑level to integrated module validation.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with PIC design, electrical, mechanical and test teams to define production requirements and develop test approaches.
• Design, construct, and qualify optical test systems such as imaging, microscopy, polarimetry, profilometry, and interferometry.
• Collect and analyze large data sets to identify performance trends and drive yield improvements.
• Support validation activities across wafer, die, and module levels.
• Work with internal teams and suppliers to pinpoint drivers of performance, reliability and quality issues.
• Review designs for manufacturability and guide integration, test flow and execution readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, optical engineering, applied physics or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience with optics, photonics, lasers or optical test.
• Proficiency in programming (C++, LabVIEW, Python) and willingness to work extended hours when needed.
