About the role

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to join the clinical staff at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. The role supports ophthalmology providers by preparing patients and equipment, ensuring smooth patient flow, and maintaining a high standard of care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients for ophthalmic examinations and procedures.
• Assist ophthalmologists with diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health information.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of exam rooms and instruments.
• Provide patient education regarding pre‑ and post‑procedure instructions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism with patients and staff.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
