Operator – Sludge & Water Treatment

About the role

The Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining sludge dewatering, processing, and testing equipment at a refinery/industrial facility in Texas. The role ensures water is purified to meet customer specifications while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed and odor control systems.
• Run disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses, and related measuring/control devices.
• Perform testing and material handling tasks as required.
• Collaborate with team members and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Utilize computer programs for process control and monitoring.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (required); related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English operational and safety instructions.
• Basic mathematical calculation skills.
• Willingness to serve on a rotational 24‑hour emergency on‑call schedule.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Pass a drug test and criminal background check.

Required skills

• Operation of pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers.
• Use of chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses.
• Proficiency with measuring and control devices, testing equipment, and material handling equipment.
• Experience with process control software.
