Operator III – Production Management (Shift)

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Operator III to support the Custom Pak department at its Houston manufacturing facility. The role works a Monday‑Thursday shift from 4:15 PM to 2:45 AM CST, performing advanced production and packaging operations while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust packaging equipment to maximize performance, quality, and efficiency.
• Perform advanced production tasks such as assembly, material processing, bonding, plastic joining, wrapping, packaging, and basic product testing.
• Restock packaging materials and maintain continuous equipment operation.
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Follow detailed production schedules, SOPs, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GxP) with proper documentation.
• Identify, report, and support resolution of non‑conformances and production issues.
• Participate in quality checks, Lean continuous‑improvement initiatives, and track productivity metrics.
• Lead and mentor team members and temporary workers, ensuring a safe work environment.

Required profile

• Ability to follow SOPs, safety procedures, and GxP requirements.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and inspection of products.
• Effective communication, initiative, and sound judgment.
• Leadership on the production line, including training and mentoring.
