Operator III – Molding & Tooling Production (B Shift)

About the role

Alcon’s Manufacturing team is seeking an Operator III to join the Molding & Tooling Production Operations on the B Shift. The role involves operating complex molding tools, performing quality inspections, and ensuring high production standards for eye‑care medical devices.

Key responsibilities

• Operate molding tools and equipment with minimal supervision.
• Perform quality inspections using gauges and fixtures and monitor quality statistically.
• Follow work instructions, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) requirements.
• Handle materials, operate automated equipment, and resolve minor issues.
• Participate in mold changes, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and troubleshoot medical device molds.
• Conduct optical tool inspection, assembly, set‑up, targeting, line clearance, mechanical and negative checks, and changeovers.
• Operate the solvent supply and disposal system for production and research.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure rigorous quality control.
• Complete required training and contribute to overall compliance.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent reading, writing and communication in English.
• On‑site work in Houston, TX.
• Schedule: Monday‑Wednesday and every other Thursday, 4:45 pm – 4:45 am.
• Travel requirement: 0‑10%.
