Operator – Bulk Liquid Handling

About the role

The Operator – Bulk Liquid Handling is responsible for safely loading and unloading hazardous and non‑hazardous liquid products from tank cars, trucks, ships, barges and other containers. The role ensures product quality through sampling and gauging while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload liquid products from tank cars, trucks, ISO containers, ships and barges.
• Gauge and sample tanks to verify product specifications.
• Operate portable pumps, check valves, bleed valves and regulators.
• Label, record and secure sample containers and product lines.
• Apply steam, purge, blow and pig product lines as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety meetings and training.
• Complete Plant Operating Orders, checklists and documentation accurately.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six months experience in liquid terminal operations or a similar industrial setting.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Basic math proficiency for measurements and calculations.

Required skills

• Operation of portable pumps.
• Knowledge of check valves, bleed valves and regulators.
• Sampling and gauging of liquid tanks, trucks, railcars and containers.
• Application of steam, purging and blowing product lines.
• Ability to read and follow safety and operating procedures.
