About the role
The Institute for the Study of Diplomacy (ISD) at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service seeks an Operations Manager to oversee all administrative functions, communications, outreach, and events. The role supports the ISD Director, senior staff, fellows, and academic programs.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day administrative operations of ISD.
- Oversee communications and outreach, including website content, social media, and newsletters.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events and conferences.
- Supervise office functions and student employees.
- Provide administrative support to the Director, senior staff, diplomatic and defense fellows, and research initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience in operations, office management, events, or communications.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong professional work ethic, initiative, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently from start to finish.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Interest in international affairs is a plus.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Adobe InDesign, Canvas, Box, and Excel database management.
- Graphic‑design competence.
