Operations Manager I – Manufacturing

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Operations Manager I to lead a production team that assembles, inspects and tests capital equipment for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The role focuses on meeting cycle‑time targets, ensuring safety and driving continuous improvement in a clean‑room environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across assembly, inspection, test and final test functions for electronic, mechanical and electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Set daily team priorities, develop work schedules, assign tasks and lead shift handoffs and operations reviews.
• Organize and facilitate pre‑shift, safety and other team meetings.
• Track and improve performance metrics such as cycle time, equipment efficiency and safety incidents.
• Coordinate with service and customer groups to secure resources, tools and materials needed to meet production schedules.
• Drive Lean, safety and quality initiatives and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to supervise day‑to‑day work and coach employee development.
• Experience applying guidelines, procedures and processes within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong judgment to resolve production schedule issues and prioritize daily tasks.
• Understanding of Applied Materials’ global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical expectations.

Required skills
