Operations Management Trainee - Airport

About the role

Avis Budget is hiring an Operations Management Trainee for its airport location in Lihue, Hawaii. The role sits within an eight-week structured, hands-on training program that exposes trainees to Sales, Logistics and Customer Service, and prepares them for a supervisory position overseeing daily operations or sales functions. The annual starting salary is $66,000, with a company vehicle provided.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through core operational functions during the eight-week training program to build a foundation in airport operations.
• Learn how daily decisions affect fleet availability, revenue, customer satisfaction and employee performance.
• After training, move into a supervisory role overseeing one or more daily operations or sales functions.
• Lead frontline teams, support fleet operations, monitor performance metrics and ensure service and safety standards are met.
• Receive ongoing mentorship and development support, with advancement opportunities into Operations Manager and future leadership roles.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a bachelor's or associate's degree and at least two years of customer service experience.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, able to work collaboratively and make independent decisions.
• Valid driver's license.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends and holidays, and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Regular on-site presence required; the position cannot be performed remotely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, climbing and driving cars in all weather.
• One year of high-quality customer service experience is a plus.
