Operations Management Manager II – Weekend 2nd Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager II to lead weekend production operations on the second shift. You will oversee a team that assembles, inspects, tests and final‑tests capital equipment for semiconductor and display manufacturing, ensuring high quality and on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across assembly, inspection, test and final‑test functions.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material availability.
• Participate in operational meetings and track organization performance metrics.
• Ensure cycle‑time performance and other key production metrics are met or improved.
• Respond promptly to operational issues affecting customer satisfaction and drive corrective actions.
• Oversee safety training, environmental, health and safety compliance for all department staff.
• Develop personnel through training, career development plans and performance management.
• Manage hiring, rewards, discipline and employee selection processes.
• Support capacity‑optimization analysis and implement process improvements.
• Drive Lean, Safety and Quality initiatives and take corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• Demonstrates solid understanding of procedures within the operations management job family.
• Has formal supervisory responsibilities, sets priorities and coaches employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Uses sound judgment to identify and resolve day‑to‑day technical and operational problems.
• Impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the team and its contribution to the business unit.
