Operations Management Manager II – Night Shift (MDP Build)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager II in Operations Management for night‑shift production of its MDP Build line in Austin, TX. The role leads a team that oversees assembly, inspection, testing and final test of capital equipment and components, ensuring high quality and on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across production functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test for capital equipment.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements.
• Lead operational meetings, track performance metrics, and drive cycle‑time improvements.
• Ensure compliance with customer/vendor requirements, conduct cost‑of‑quality analysis and initiate corrective actions.
• Oversee safety programs, environmental, health and safety training, and accident prevention.
• Develop staff through training, performance management, hiring, and career development.
• Support capacity optimization, implement Lean, safety and quality initiatives, and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Formal supervisory experience with responsibility for setting priorities and coaching employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to solve day‑to‑day technical and operational problems using sound judgment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive issues and interact with customers, vendors or suppliers.
• Understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and commitment to ethical conduct.
