Operations Management Manager II – 2nd Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that enable semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing. This position leads a production team on the 2nd shift, overseeing assembly, inspection, test and final test activities for capital equipment. You will drive performance, safety and quality while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across production functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test of electronic, mechanical and electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Set daily team priorities, develop work schedules, assign tasks and manage shift handoffs and operational reviews.
• Organize and facilitate pre‑shift, safety and other team meetings, and track performance metrics.
• Coordinate with service and customer groups to secure resources, tools, supplies and materials needed to meet production schedules.
• Drive improvements in cycle time, equipment efficiency, safety incident elimination and overall team morale.
• Manage employee selection, hiring, performance management, discipline and career development processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrates understanding of guidelines, procedures and processes within the operations function.
• Applies knowledge of how upstream work impacts the team and contributes to overall manufacturing flow.
• Provides day‑to‑day supervision, coaching and development for team members.
• Uses sound judgment to resolve production schedule issues and prioritize daily tasks.
• Impacts quality and timeliness of results, contributing to departmental goals.
