Operations Management Manager I – 2nd Shift

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering, is seeking a Manager I in Operations Management for the 2nd shift. The role oversees production and operation functions such as assembly, inspection, testing, and final test of capital equipment and systems. You will lead a team to meet cycle‑time performance, safety, quality and customer satisfaction goals.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across production functions, prioritize schedules, and manage manpower, equipment efficiency and material requirements.
• Lead operational meetings, track performance metrics, and drive improvements in cycle time and other key indicators.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and oversee employee training.
• Develop personnel through training, performance management, hiring, reward and discipline processes.
• Identify and implement process, quality and Lean improvements to optimize manufacturing capability.

Required profile

• Demonstrated understanding of production procedures and basic knowledge of related job families.
• Ability to set priorities, coach employees and meet daily deadlines.
• Judgment to resolve day‑to‑day technical and operational problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive issues and interact with customers, vendors or suppliers.
