Operations Controller – New York

About the role

The Operations Controller will oversee accounting activities for assigned accounts and support the Regional Director of Finance in managing the financial operations of Restaurant Associates in New York. This role is central to ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control within a leading catering organization.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reconciliations and analyses for multiple balance‑sheet accounts.
• Track and maintain monthly profit & loss and balance‑sheet activity.
• Develop forecasts and budgets, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and review general ledger entries and balance sheets.
• Resolve accounting and reconciliation issues.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including close processes and audit documentation.
• Maintain inventory and cost‑control procedures.
• Administer payroll and basic human‑resources functions.
• Support special projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum five years of experience in revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling.
• Experience in food‑service or retail accounting, with food‑service operations knowledge preferred.
• Proven ability to prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash‑flow analyses.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
