Operations Assistant Manager – Phoenix Cash Services

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking an Operations Assistant Manager for its Phoenix Cash Services office. You will lead a large team responsible for the secure processing of U.S. currency and coins, ensuring operational excellence in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee handling and processing of valuables in compliance with Bank, Board of Governors, and Treasury Department policies.
• Manage team workflow to meet or exceed productivity goals while driving continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with management and staff to identify, influence, and implement process enhancements.
• Develop and lead a leadership team focused on people development, operational excellence, and public service.
• Promote a learning culture and ensure strong adoption of organizational objectives, vision, and values.

Required profile

• Proven operations and people leader with experience influencing multiple departments.
• Excellent communicator who sets high standards and coaches talent.
• Thrives in a critical leadership position and enjoys leading complex business operations.
• Banking experience not required; experience in military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production, or distribution is desired.
