Operational Staff - Event Facility Support

About the role

Legends Global, a venue management company with over 350 venues worldwide, is hiring an Operational Support Aide in Ithaca. The role covers the conversion process in preparation for events and assists with general cleaning and maintenance of the facilities. The position is for 20 work hours per week, with flexibility depending on the event schedule, and early morning hours for setup are expected when there is an event.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and stock restrooms, sweep, mop, dust, remove trash, vacuum, spot clean, wash, strip, clean carpets, wash windows and wax as needed.
• Deep clean carpets, remove stains and gum, and maintain garbage and recycling receptacles.
• Operate equipment such as scrubbing machines and extractors.
• Set up and take down flooring, portable chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging, tables and other event equipment, and help with debris removal.
• Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties, assist clients and visitors, and ensure proper facility preparation for events.
• Take part in planning, training and staff meetings, safety programs and special projects.
• Report on time in a clean uniform, follow the IDCC dress code, and keep the workplace safe and sanitary.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; previous experience in event set-up or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and on a tight schedule, organize work to meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
• Professional appearance and attitude, and ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, and to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
• Must complete ladder safety training; no certifications required.
• Physical demands include standing for long hours, lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying a 30 lb disinfectant backpack for extended periods.

Required skills

Wage range: $18.50 per hour.
